3–4 daysThe great passes
Transfăgărășan up, Transalpina back, Sibiu in between. The two most famous mountain roads in Europe in one loop — open roughly July to October.
4–5 daysSaxon villages loop
Fortified churches, lime-washed lanes and slow dinners between Viscri, Biertan and Sighișoara. Short drives, long evenings.
5–7 daysMaramureș & Bucovina
The long northern arc: wooden churches, the Merry Cemetery, then over the pass to Voroneț blue. The deepest countryside Romania has.
3–4 daysApuseni & the volcanoes
Ice cave, karst plateau, basalt columns and a salt mine the size of a cathedral. The wild west of Transylvania.
2–3 daysThe Dracula loop
Sighișoara where Vlad was born, Brașov, Râșnov fortress and Bran at opening time — the myth done honestly, in two days.

- Do I need a 4×4?
- No. Every route here is paved; a normal car does fine. The passes are closed in winter — roughly November to June for the high sections.
- Can you plan a road trip without booking your houses?
- Yes. The planning is the same service — with our homes, with your hotels, or camping. We quote it transparently either way.
- How many kilometres a day is realistic?
- Plan 150–250 km. Romanian roads are slower than the map suggests, and the point is to stop often.
