A village of 400 people, one fortified church, one bakery, one road. Here is exactly how to spend a weekend so that nothing happens, in the best possible way.

Arrive on Friday after lunch. The drive from Brașov is two hours on the new road, two and a half on the old one through Saschiz, which is the better option. Park anywhere — there is no traffic. Walk to the church before the priest closes it at five. Sit on the wall and watch the geese come back from the meadow. That is Day One.
