A week in the Saxon Triangle — our standard itinerary, with the small detours

Sibiu, Sighișoara, Viscri, Biertan, Mălâncrav — and the half-day detours most guidebooks miss. This is the route we send to first-timers.

Day 1: fly into Sibiu. Two nights at Kuria Magna, breakfast included, dinner at Crama Sibiu Vechi. Day 2: morning in the old town, afternoon to Cisnădie for the church and Sibiel for the icon museum. Day 3: drive to Viscri, two nights at Casa Saxonia, walk to the church, evening drink at Mihai's. Day 4: Mălâncrav and Florești orchards, lunch at Hochmeister House. Day 5: drive to Sighișoara, two nights, climb the clock tower at sunset. Day 6: Biertan, Saschiz, the small market in Daneș. Day 7: home, the long way through Făgăraș.
